Great atmosphere, music and food. This is my favorite date night spot in Charlotte so far. Nothing about Middle C jazz club disappoints. For anyone who hasn’t gone there needs to go. The best time to go is before doors open to have great seating. My third time going and already planning to go back

Celebrating the Women Who Move Us, For Women’s History Month

At Middle C Jazz, we believe music isn’t just heard—it’s felt. Sprinkled throughout March, we are feeling the power of the women who have redefined the stage. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’ve curated a lineup that spans the spectrum of the female experience in music, from the technical brilliance of global jazz icons to the soul-stirring tributes of the voices that raised us.

Spotlight: Saxophonist Mike Phillips, a Path of Legends

Born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, during the rise of hip-hop, Mike Phillips grew up in a neighborhood that produced some of music’s biggest names, including Mary J. Blige, Heavy D, and Pete Rock.

Keiko Matsui: Boundary-breaking Musician & Humanitariani: Boundary-breaking Musician & Humanitarian

As we celebrate Women’s History Month this March, Middle C Jazz is honored to welcome back a true global icon who embodies the spirit of female leadership and artistic boundary-breaking: Keiko Matsui.

Spotlight: the Meteoric Rise of Saxophonist Braxton Cook

When you’re chasing your next big break, hard work and skill are the entry fees—but it’s often a single, unexpected connection that turns the corner.

Veronica Swift, a prodigy on the leading edge of jazz

Veronica Swift has never fit neatly into one box, and that’s exactly the point. Praised by The Wall Street Journal for her “miraculous voice” and natural command of the stage, Swift first gained attention as a jazz prodigy, singing on the road with her musician parents and releasing her debut album at age 10…

The Raw and Primal Blues of Albert Castiglia

Everyone has that one cousin—the one who lives a little bit on the wild side, the one who encourages the part of you that doesn’t like to do what is expected, but is so much fun you just can’t resist. They are the raucous one who means well, but when they come around, they also mean trouble.
